Thank you for your interest in the Reach Higher Initiative Internship. Reach Higher, an initiative started by former First Lady Michelle Obama during her time in the White House, is an effort to inspire every student in America to take charge of his or her future by completing education past high school, whether at a professional training program, a community college, or a four-year college or university. Reach Higher seeks to help every student navigate the college-going process by: (1) celebrating student success; (2) raising awareness about effective college access tools and resources; (3) using a student-centered approach that meets students where they are; and (4) enhancing student support systems by building the capacity of the school counseling profession. In 2015, Reach Higher launched Better Make Room, its student-facing campaign designed to reach students where they are through social media and other new media platforms. For more information visit bettermakeroom.org.
Reach Higher is housed at Civic Nation, a nonprofit that uses organizing, engagement, and public awareness to address some of our nation’s most pressing challenges. We work with public and private partners to build tools and campaigns that turn great ideas into action. Founded in 2015, Civic Nation is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization with creative partners and a growing team. For more information on all of our programs, visit our website at civicnation.org.
