School Counselor of the Year

Since 2015, Reach Higher and Mrs. Obama have celebrated the School Counselor of the Year ceremony with the American School Counselor Association. This year, Kirsten Perry, a school counselor at Lawndale Community Academy in Chicago, Illinois, was honored as the 2018 School Counselor of the Year. The ceremony also recognized the over 40 state finalists who were selected to represent their state for the incredible work they do every day at their school to support students. The ceremony was held at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.
